CITYPULSE IN THE BEIJING OLYMPICS

A selection of videos taken in Chilean cities by Citypulse artists will be screened in the World One Minutes exhibition. The event will be launched in June 6th in the Beijing Today Art Museum as part of the city's official cultural programme surrounding the Olympic Games.

After Beijing, the World One Minutes will be travelling around the world, marking the beginning of the World One Minutes Biennale, with the next editions in 2010 an 2012.

ALFONSO GUEVARA IN CITYPULSE

The series 'Memoria Parcial' is a photo essay about the way we remember.
Alfonso tries to play with the public’s memories, like an gestalt experiment, he only present fragments of the urban landscape of several cities, including Ciudad Juárez, Monterrey, Saltillo y Zacatecas in México; and El Paso, Texas, USA.


In the video 'Blurry Memories', entirely made by digital pictures, he represent the way he look his hometown in a period while he was living in another city.

'In between smooth groove and the suburbs' consist of many different styles and
represent the various likings of its creator.
Influences come from d&b, electronica, soundtrack,
pop/rock and back then particularly from soul/r&b and
jazz.
Many of the tracks even tell some different
stories in themselves, which expands its moods and
again partly lets the various styles intertwine into
each other.

All the music was recorded with a Roland
XP-50 synthesizer.
